In recognition of your previous overall win in Limerick Going for Gold , Adare is now included in the Limerick Going for Gold “Champions” category. The “Champions” category will work in the following way.
The Champions Category would include previous winners of the top prize in the Limerick Going for Gold Challenge Category
- 2011 – Castletroy View Residents Association
- 2012 – Janesboro Tidy Towns
- 2013 – Annacotty Tidy Towns
- 2014 – Caherdavin Tidy Towns & Residents Association
- 2015 – Castleconnell Tidy Towns
- 2016 – Glin Tidy Towns & Development Association
- 2017 – Adare Tidy Towns
- 2018 – Athea & Kilteely
- Each of the champion areas will be awarded a starting pot of €1,600.
- For each item of litter seen on judging day €20 will be deducted from the starting amount of €1,600.
- The more items of litter found, the more is lost from the starting €1,600.
- Anything “lost” goes into a winner’s pot and will be awarded to the “Champion of Champions” for 2019. This will be the area with the least litter on the day/s of judging.
- There will be other runner up/incentive prizes in this category.
- Judges/Assessors for this category are expected to visit all Champion Participant areas on the week beginning 2- 5th of September 2019.
In order to hold on to as much of the €1600 award as possible we will announce one more consolidated effort towards the end of August to tidy up the village pre-judging. Any help would be very much appreciated.
If you wish to help out in any way you can please complete the form and we’ll get back to you.
